Would be 5 stars, but...
Love the cropping options in this app. But, when I go to export the cropped photo the app freezes. I have to restart the app again and still can’t get the cropped photo to save. Doesn’t happen on every photo, but about 60% of the time. Any fixes in the works for this?
Impressive, inexpensive single-function app
Deep Crop does just one thing, but it does it well. The suggested crops are generally good; even if you don’t like any of the crops offered, they often suggest new ways to look at your pictures.
There are a few things that could be improved. The default aspect ratios — 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, and Smart — are a little limiting. It would be nice to see other common ratios, such as 3:2, included by default. Deep Crop does allow you to specify a custom ratio, but the custom ratio isn’t added permanently to the menu; Deep Crop forgets it as soon as you leave the cropping screen.
It would also be good if Deep Crop was smarter about the original picture orientation. If you have an original image in portrait mode, and you choose 4:3, Deep Crop will suggest crops with a 4:3 ratio, effectively turning portrait into landscape, instead of suggesting 3:4 portrait crops. To preserve the orientation of the image, you’ll need to enter the 3:4 ratio as a custom ratio (and, for reasons explained above, you’ll need to do it for each image).
Finally, I’m not a fan of the UI for selecting images. It’s pretty, but not very efficient. If you have a lot of images in your library, you’ll end up doing a lot of swiping and scrolling to get to the image you want to edit. Something similar to the basic Photos UI might be less attractive but it would be a lot easier to work with.
These issues aside, this is a great little app, and at the current price of $0.99 it’s an absolute bargain. What I really want now, though, is a Deep Crop plugin for Adobe Lightroom.
Incredible Concept; Buggy Beta Software
I love the idea of this app, and the suggested crops are interesting and effective. But after saving one crop, the app becomes useless, freezing up when processing the next. The makers shouldn’t release apps like this until they are stable. It’s so disappointing, it’s making me rethink my subscription to the Polarr app itself.
Does not export large files
Very nice app for showing different cropping perspectives, however I was unable to export a photo above 30mb.
Missing some features

No landscape mode? That’s how I view most of the time.
How about adding the ability to see the entire photo library and pick the image you want cropped? It seems more efficient than having to scroll through all the images.
its not smart at all, it only crop your pics, but the result isnt better
Interesting idea; crashes often
I wanted to give it a higher rating because the app presents interesting crop ideas that I didn’t think of in many occasions. However, the app itself is not stable. It crashes often, but seems to happen randomly. It could be pressing the crop again button, scrolling through the styles, or simply trying to save the new crop into the camera roll.
Interesting But Major Flaws
Unfortunately exported photos are stripped of location data, time, date, etc. Even worse, image quality is severely degraded! Why???
…but the Gallery button is maddeningly hard to tap, and it appears that meta data (location at least) is lost from exported images.
Amazing!!! 5 STARZ!!!!
I can create infinite memes with this app. What a god send
