Slacker Radio App Reviews

  • A little disappointed...

    By BrownEyz72
I have been a paid Slacker subscriber for many years...but I’m a bit disappointed with the look of the new app LiveXLive. New app should mean NEW cover art for ALL the stations. Some stations have had the same cover artist forever. I’m not a fan of the last played station window stuck in the lower corner as I browse the new site. It’s in the way. I’ve mentioned it before, but it would be nice if the people that create the playlists for stations could rotate music more frequently or add way more songs so that if one is listening during a work day, music hasn’t repeated itself numerous times. Especially if you aren’t listening to a New Release station. I give 4 stars because I am a loyal premium subscriber and I prefer slacker over all others.

I won’t be renewing my subscription.
  • Huge step backwards

    By Dave804
Although Slacker Radio was relatively unheard of compared to other services, it was hands down the best. With this new update to “LiveX whatever” it’s a huge step backwards!!! Not only is the branding horrible but they just needlessly complicated the whole user UI. They should have just added the features to Slacker rather than merge Slacker into LiveX whatever it’s called. It’s a shame that someone thought this was going to be a good idea. It’s not a good idea and it’s horrible for everyone who loved Slacker. Time to find a new music streaming app.
  • New App Update

    By Paul240
With this new update, app is telling me network issues on both my phone and iPad. Guess this wasn’t meant for prime time.
  • Don’t buy upgrades!

    By durstyturtle
When upgrades are purchased they remove functions given by the free version and continually play songs by artists who were banned and or has banned songs! Every station was better free. Only offer the best version if you’re going to force your customers to get it or lose their time and money. Be real slacker!
  • Little bit of a glitch

    By TrAcEkOtT
Recently when I use the app my music stops when my phone screen locks please fix, other than that five star
  • When did they put this many ads into it

    By TwoWheelFix
How to get deleted, 6 ads to one song... terrible amount of ads and I don’t need 3 ads on how you are changing the name of your app in under 5 minutes.

  • needs serious improvement

I really wanted to like Slacker because it has some more obscure music that I can’t find on Spotify, Apple Music, etc, and I used to listen to it all the time back when it was AOL Radio, but there’s a number of problems with both the app and the service: 1. iOS password autofill is not supported, so you can’t use an automatically generated password. 2. Passwords are limited to 16 characters, which is absolutely insane in 2019. 3. While playing music to a Homepod, every 30 seconds or so the music will pause for no reason, requiring you to open the app and resume playing. 4. The play-on-demand and offline listening premium features exclude a lot of the content (including entire stations!) and this is not at all made obvious when signing up. Unfortunately, it seems most of the content unavailable for play-on-demand/offline is the same rare content that differentiates Slacker from other music services. Overall, because of issue #4 I cannot justify using Slacker over Spotify or Apple Music. And unfortunately because of issues #1-3 it’s barely usable even in the free version.
  • False Advertising

    By iidshad43687
I received an email from slacker linking to a site offering a discount for a plus membership that was advertising a product that is only available with a premium membership. That’s false advertising. I used to like slacker but that’s not right.
