Notability App Reviews

  • Overall very good, a few suggestions though

    By AelitaR
The app is very good for handwriting, there is no complaint about most services that notability provides. However, there are a few revision that I think notability could consider. 1. Add the ability for users to alter the orientation of the notes. This is because that when PDFs are imported, many of them are oriented in the wrong direction for reading. However, users can’t alter them inside the notability app, which means that users have to use another app to do so. This is very inefficient, and the fact that not many note taking apps can do this means that notability will get a head start advantage. 2. Consider adding the ability to split screen in the “up and down” direction, not just side by side (or left and right). This design allows note taking in smaller devices on one screen more plausible. Please consider adding the above features!!
  • No one to help me.

This app worked great for me until I ran into some issues. I attempted to contact notability for some help but never heard back from them. They seem impossible to contact which is a bummer.
  • Good But Could Be Better (a little)

    By kmb215121
I love notability and use it for everything I do, but I just wish I could create folders within folders for projects, Etc. Like i would love to have a year folder with a semester folder inside with a class folder inside with a chapter folder inside. It would also be nice if there were other pen options (Pen, pencil, shading, things like that for when i make diagrams). Otherwise notability is everything I’ve ever wanted for taking notes.
  • NO Math/Equation Expressions from Word documents

    By itlum
Notability fails to render mathematical expressions by inserted equations done in Microsoft Word. I’d give it much better ratings if it wasn’t something so basic that they missed.
  • Love it but could use improvements

Hope that the highlighter will be wayyy brighter and that there is an easier way to change colors without reopening the menu. App sometimes lags, making my handwriting choppy (?) Also hope it could have divisions within the subject for further organization. Great app tho
  • Solid app, getting better

So glad that the palm rejection works! With vertical scroll and zoom, although relatively minimal, this has stuck with me for 6 years now. There might be a few little things I’ve forgotten about, but overall super practical
  • PDF’a lack images and TERRIBLE customer service

    By Lulubellll
I got the app so I can download and read textbooks on my iPad, the textbooks don’t have several figures. I sent in a message to their customer service about a month ago and no one ever got back to me. So just be careful if you decide to spend your money on this app for a similar purpose.
  • iCloud

    By qthmarcial
I’m not sure if this is just a problem that occurs with my school iPad, but it had occurred several times. iCloud will decide to back up all at once and will block my access to new notes. It’s really frustrating because it duplicates my notes without pictures or text.
  • Disappointed

    By Mdude4104
Very annoying to write with an apple pencil as a lefty because it goes back to menu and stops writing and it is literally the week of finals and I can't load any notes because "auto-backup" means it's in the cloud and you can't access it offline Update:Still nothing done to fix this. It is finals another semester later and I keep having to add notes again and the "auto-backup" garbage is still useless. You know backup mean another copy. Not store everything in the cloud and slowly download it whenever I need access to it. I want my money back at this point
