Plex App Reviews

  • Playlist Sharing

    By FeelReal465Sob
PLEASE IMPLEMENT A PLAYLIST SHARING OPTION! The new “Volume Leveling” function could be improved. There is still a noticeable difference between new music and my older (hard to find) collection. Solid app otherwise.
  • Love it!

    By DJ Jelly
I’ve used quite a few different media servers and plex is by far the easiest. It has the best support on mobile and Pc/max/Linux. Paying for the plex pass it worth it to me, I use it to back up my photos. instead of using iCloud, I have my own cloud!
  • Activation fee

By As seen on the Internet
Activation is stupid, should be free as it is on computer / consoles
  • Don't recast when the app opens

    By JonNRb
Please for the love of f**k fix this. The Google Cast spec _explicitly_ says you are not supposed to start a new session unless the user initiates a new session. If I, let's say, start casting YouTube or turn off my TV, when I open Plex again it thinks it's time to cast again. This turns on my TV or interrupts something else. Stop.
  • Doesn’t work without internet

    By Bulle72
The main reason for using Plex is to play media for my children while travelling. I use a WD MyPassport WirelessPro running Plex. The only problem is that if you don’t have a working internet connection the whole system doesn’t work. It’s very frustrating and defeats the purpose for me. I have reverted to downloading content on Netflix and iTunes and let them watch that.
  • Happy for a long time

    By Raze Tepes
Recently upgraded to lifetime. Can’t recommend enough.
  • There remote connections are broken.

    By Frank Panduh
Been a plex pass user for years, they recently broke the Remote connections and haven’t fixed it for months. Use EMBY till they fix it. It’s been like 4 updates and no fix or contact from support. I hold hope that one day it will be a great service again. Until then use anything that works.
  • No lossless ALAC sync to iPhone?

    By rjcola27
I am a new user who pays monthly for pass as well. I’ve been very happy with two exceptions. 1. This is a Roku issue but I’ll mention it here anyway just in case someone from Plex is reading this. I really want gapless music playback. You can’t listen to albums from Pink Floyd and side two of Abbey Road like this. It’s very annoying to say the least! 2. From my windows computer I want to sync ALAC 16/44 lossless to my iPhone for offline playback. Why can’t this be done? Why does it have to be converted to MP3 first? I know I can download directly from my phone but if I’m on my windows computer already I should be able to make it happen from there as well.
  • Desyncs with Chromecast

    By texjer
I have to restart the Plex app a lot because it just stops controlling Chromecast.
