  • Easier than station sites & apps

Often works better than a station’s own app or web site player —began to use this app when it was difficult to get my desktop to start the listen live feature of a local news talk station. It's got a bit of a delay, but that's cool if you are vein, and you want to hear what you said on a call-in show – but aside from that, having a profile with my favorite Christian, & news stations – & being able to pick a syndicated show, and listen even if it's from across the nation, is cool. Occasionally some glitch causes 5 to 30 seconds of a show to repeat, but I don't believe anything is ever dropped…

Still playing Sunday shows on Monday. On Saturday and Sunday, they play Friday shows. Don't know what happened to this app! 3/25/2019 Update: once again listening to Friday shows on Monday morning 😤👎

I subscribed to Tune In to stream music without commercials and to listen to the Celtics when and where I want. That’s a five! However, the App sometimes conflicts somewhere between my router, Comcast, iPhone updates, and my Mac. This is annoying and I suspect the problem is with Xfinity trying butt in line with it’s own stuff. The only solution is to unplug everything and reload TuneIn. Actual directions for managing the App are not available as far as I know.

This app used to be great, but unfortunately the highly interruptive video ads have gotten more prominent. You’re lucky if you get more than 1 minute of un-interrupted listening before your presented with a 15-30 second ad, that will end up pausing your radio for an additional 15 seconds afterwards. Sometimes you’ll be presented with the same ad in immediate succession as much as 2 or 3 times before your actual radio will resume. I understand the need to monetize free users and incentivize them to upgrade to your paid tier, but rendering your app useless is not the way of doing so. Instead you’ll alienate and lose users who are no longer able to use the application (remember; not everyone are willing to pay for a service they may not need on a regular basis). I would take a look at Spotify to see how frequently they present ads to their free users and other monetization strategies. For now, I will be deleting TuneIn and looking for a more usable alternative.

Love using Tune in but sometimes I really get sick of hearing the same commercials.
