Magic Piano by Smule App Reviews

  • Not what it once was

I liked the game, good selection of songs, for both premium and free. Seems there are hardly any free songs anymore, all my old free ones can no longer be played without paying for them. And now there are sooo many ads. Not really worth playing, anymore. Such a shame, will not be spending anymore money on it.
  • Some Glitches

Well, This game is good but.. on faded it said go faster and I was. And all the other songs said it too. Maybe you can Fix it... Maybe it’s a Glitch or not. One of them said Go slower Even and I was... ^.^ Well I hope you can Update it or fix. Thank you.
  • TOO MANY ADS!

I used to play this game all the time a while ago and I thought I would start playing again. But now there are ads after EVERY song! And you have to watch an ad to play the free songs! It used to not be like that. What happened? Why so many ads?
  • Its great but

This app is great and i love it, but theres one thing that would make it perfect. It would be great if you could favorite songs, aka send them to a new tab right above the My Songs tab. This would be great because i have a lot of songs i don't play anymore, ever since you added the composer i just got a bunch of undertale songs and now i only play those. It would be great if you added this.
  • Used to be a great app, but has since become almost unusable without paying.

I've seen these kinds of reviews with other people, where they have purchased the app in the past, loved the game then, and have since deleted and redownload the app only to find that it had fallen into the hole of nickel and ding you for every little thing, then playing an ad every chance they get, that many other once great apps had done before it. While I would like to say that I am not one of those people now leaving this review, I can't. In the past it was truly a great app, that brought me to want to learn more about music and learning the piano, and eventually moving on to other instruments, but now it fails to bring that aspect to the table. The ads can sometimes make it infuriating to play as, if you are playing a free song, you must watch an ad before it will even download, and then after EVERY song you are forced to watch an ad before being allowed to return to the "songbook". And with the very scarce variety of free songs provided, you are essentially being forced to pay for coins or memberships in order to get anything new out of the app. From what I have collected in the week since redownload into this game is that smile has begun to value customer satisfaction less, and profit more, which for the record, wouldn't necessarily be such a bad thing, except for the fact that they have gone overkill on the profit aspect and completely dropped the customer satisfaction (the more important) aspect. I hope the developers actually read these reviews and improve these issues in upcoming updates.
  • They just won’t listen.

So I have known about this app since I was around 7 or 8 about a year after it came out. I remember back then that there were very few ads, and I just loved playing my favorite songs for hours! Now that has changed. I love the idea of being able to play a piano on your phone, but not when there’s ads after every single song you play. Not to mention that the piano is so quiet compared to the ads that if I have earbuds in, the ad’s music literally kills my ears! The daily challenge scores are most likely chosen randomly based on what I’ve seen, and that’s really disappointing. Also if there’s a long pause in a song, the notes will come down way faster than they’re supposed to (and you’ll lose your point streak if you wait). Oh yeah, and why is almost every song VIP? Why would someone pay $7.99 a week or whatever to play the piano on their phone? So that’s my rant, there’s probably more to complain about that I haven’t thought of.
  • A Fun App, Too Many Ads

I think that the app is a good way to spend free-time. I find it fun and relaxing to play my favorite songs, but what I don’t like about it is the constant ads. Every time I get finished with a song, it’s always something trying to get me to download an app, and I get that, but it’s annoying after it appears sixty times, practically each with a video. I wouldn’t mind an ad after every three or so songs, but I really don’t feel like waiting to play another song.
  • Too many ads

This is a great app, even with the copious amount of songs you can only play if you buy them. But ads after every single song you play?! I play no more than 4 songs every time I open the app because the excessive ads are just too annoying

  • Too many adds

The app is great!!! It has a large variety of songs to choose, and master. The only thing that I can’t stand are the adds! I hate adds and there is always an add before and after I play a song. It would be way better if I was able to encounter an add fore every 4 songs I play.
