    I like the variety of workouts! The programs to reach specific fitness goals are very well planned. And I *love* the body-weight-only factor. Just me and my determination. :) Scheduling the next workout at the end of the current workout helps keep me on track. Wishlist: a) During each move, narration on how to execute each exercise, in addition to the visual. Especially would be helpful with modalities I’m unfamiliar with, such as Pilates. b) More clear instruction on what constitutes a “rest day.” Specific “rest day” routines.
  • Great idea but too many glitches

    UPDATE, November 2018: They’re discontinuing the free version of the app and all users will have to pay. They say in their FAQs they this is so they can fight childhood obesity. They do not mention that Sworkit is not a nonprofit company. Of course they just want to make more money. It’s unethical to imply that they’re just being charitable. I’ve been using this app for years, but once the free version is discontinued I’ll be looking for a new app. UPDATE, Sept 2017: STILL glitchy. New glitches all the time. For weeks, the announcer only announced some - not all - commands, so I had to guess when the next exercise would start. Finally that was fixed. Today I open the app, all ready to work out, and discover the app has randomly logged me out. (I last used the app yesterday and was logged in.) I have to go dig up my password and log in again before I can exercise to ensure today's workout will be logged. So annoying. Stick with the free version. Don't waste your money on an app that's poorly supported. ------- I've been using this app over a year and it's been a game-changer for me. I'm in better shape than I've been in years because I actually exercise regularly now that I have this app. Unfortunately, it's just too glitchy, so I'm now looking for an alternative. The two biggest issues are 1) the app crashes in the middle of a workout and the workout isn't saved - super annoying at the end of a 30-minute workout! 2) ads whose voiceover starts blaring in the middle of an exercise, so much so that it's impossible to hear the instructions. Customer service is responsive, which I appreciate, but I would rather use an app that's reliable than have to contact customer service all the time. I'd try a different app before trying this one.

    It is so hard to cancel your subscription to this app. You have to go through so many hoops to do something that should be so simple. I am extremely annoyed.

    I’m absolutely happy I came across this workout app ! It’s just my speed ! Being a beginner to fitness I have tried many apps that start you off fast and rush you into each exercise. Whereas SWORKIT calculates a fitness plan for you. My plan starts me off slow and works it’s way up. Exercises are at a good pace and even have rest stops along with stretches :) I’m motivated to complete workouts and feel much better with the energy after completing each task ! :) You can add your own music to your workouts too :) Weather your a beginner, like me, or a pro to fitness this app is for you ! You won’t be disappointed !

  • A true beginner after 8 weeks

    Ok, I’m a big girl and carry all of my bulk around my middle. I was looking for something to help me gain a little more flexibility and somehow found this app. Yes, I thought it was expensive but figured I had thrown good money away on worse things so I decided to give it a try. Truthfully, there are more features than I am educated in. I’m a lifelong couch potato and not fluent in fitness. Not knowing where to begin, I answered a few questions and began the beginner level “Leaner” plan. I started with 15 minutes and found it difficult but still managed to do it 3x the first week. By the end of the 2nd week, I had completed the 3 weekly workouts and was looking for stretches or taking walks on the days off. I felt good. I have since completed that program and am now finishing the beginner “Leaner” program again but at a 30 minute timed session. After this, I’ll move through the intermediate and advanced levels before I explore the many other options. Yes, I still find it hard and I sweat buckets. But I’m still doing it. I have not lost any weight but I feel great. I have not changed anything with my diet. In fact, some days after this, I’m starving and eat more. But I move easier. I like taking walks & stairs don’t scare or strain me like they did before. While I am thrilled with the changes in how I feel, I noticed the most remarkable thing. My pants are loose. I need a smaller belt. I got out the tape measure and have lost a solid 2 inches from my waist. 8 weeks, 2 inches gone and have done nothing else different. And I feel good. It’s still kinda hard for this big girl to wrap her brain around. I’m still a big girl. Only a small few have noticed. But I’m still going strong, completed a session today and looking forward to tomorrow. You’ll get out of this what you put into it. I like it because it’s just me & the app. No gym, no judgement, no equipment needed but yourself and the belief that you can do this. Choose your program, level & duration and get moving. If this overweight middle aged mom can do this, anyone can.
