Qustodio Parental Control App Reviews

  • It does not work literally at all

    By Iceeij
I’m a subject of this terrible service, and I will make a list of all my issues I have with qustodio! 1. It does not record offline apps, like games, making it so easy to fudge 2. I was doing my homework and it shut down my internet and I lost 4-5 hours of work that I had to redo 3. This app is for little kids, not 13+ teenagers(which I am). I feel untrusted. I’m a 4.0 gpa student and I’m being treated like a 5 year old 4. It slows your device down soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. And your ping SKYROCKETS. I get an average of 200ms on 5g WiFi if I’m even LUCKY! 5. It shows to the parent that I’m on apps I don’t even have in the first place, or I’m not even on. When i was on the bus, it said I was on YouTube for two hours. And randomly saying I’m on Facebook. It blocks a ton of things that really aren’t inappropriate. 6. It doesn’t show half the apps you would expect to see. It’s limited to a few apps 7. The premium is giving you hardly anything, don’t waste the $55+ on it 8. It has a reputation for deleting literally EVERY APP on my iPad. I don’t think apple added that in iOS 12. 9. There is no such thing as “battery life” with qustodio. :-=-: I would never recommend this to anybody! Please parents, don’t put this on your teens device. Maybe a little kid, then possibly. But seriously, don’t get it. And look at how many 1 star reviews there are. Probably a reason... (Edit - Got all my apps deleted again)
  • This app is beyond bad

I have had this app for a couple of weeks now and it ruins everyone of my apps makes my power die so fast and is just messed up that people can see everything that I ever do on my phone
  • Not easy

Not so easy to set up.. I sent the link to my expire to install on son’s phone.i sent link, but no instructions or help anywhere. Really not worth the effort.
  • Not a teen review. It just doesn’t work.

We’ve been paid users for a couple years now and it’s clear that the developers have given up. For some time, the app was completely bypassed simply by turning WiFi and/or data off, but now the app force closes randomly and no longer protects the devices all on its own. Look for other options, this is a waste of money.
  • Abandonware

Looks like this app hasn’t been updated since the days of the iPhone 5.
  • Not user friendly

After using this app for a few weeks, still have issues with not blocking content on child's phone. It's just not user friendly, in my opinion.
  • Rated 1 Star on principle

I rate any app the bugs me about providing a rating as 1 Star. Stop doing this crap. When only Options are Love it Rate it Remind Me Later Report a Bug How about “Please don’t ask again”
  • Disappointed

Purchased this app for my child thinking it will monitor the calls , messages, Whatsapp but it doesn’t do anything on iPhone except web filtering which turns out utter waste of money.
  • Does not work!!

    By jockcreeper
So my parents put this on my phone but I will not be saying why that is bad I will only be talking about how this app is so broken. On mobile this puts a VPN on your phone. This VPN seems to never want to connect and when it’s not connected nothing works because it blocks it. And when it’s off it won’t let me connect to the internet most of the time and when I’m not connected to the internet the VPN won’t work. At my school the VPN will not connect no matter what I do. It never has and I need to go far from my school to get anything to work at all such as social media, YouTube, even texting. I have the time restrictions on also. And what this does to me is deleted and unorganized my apps every night. And does not even turn back on at the appropriate time and a restart is required to get it to work again. And I wake up to an alarm on my phone which doesn’t go off if the time restriction is still on. And on top of that it cost a minimum of something like $35 for a terrible service. I also have this on my computer and it can be easily removed in about 5-10 minutes.
  • Doesnt work with Chrome/is very inconsistent

    By Spacecat44
If this actually worked it would be great. It started off great, which gave a false sense of protection, but now its garbage. Had to take it off the iphone because the scheduling wasn't working (now use Ourpact). On the PC many of the “blocked” sites would still be accessible. It doesn't work at all with Chrome. I have to use Microsoft’s scheduling and app blocking ability as Qustodio doest work.
